Cogeneration Facility – GM Landfill Gas to Energy Project

General Motors was looking for ways to enhance it competitiveness by reducing energy costs and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This solution offered approximately 35 percent of the plants electricity needs and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 70 percent.

This project involved the supply and installation of (4x) 1.6 Megawatt Generators powered by renewable landfill gas from the nearby Walker Landfill site.

 

Responsible for all process Mechanical piping and all electrical services including:

  • 5kv to 34.5Kv switchgear, high-voltage transformers, SCADA programming and Instrumentation supply and wiring.
  • Supply, installation and verification of Fire Alarm system.
  • Supply of personnel for Commissioning of the works.
