Kiwanis Aquatic Centre and Library

The St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre is a state of the art facility earning Silver Certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system.

It features a double pool design to accommodate the needs of aquatics participants of all ages and abilities and a 7,000 square foot branch of the St. Catharines Public Library.

Its aquatics facility has barrier-free access for persons with disabilities, including ramp entry to pools. The pool area also has on-deck and off-deck viewing for parents and guardians. The 25-metre, eight-lane, rectangular pool accommodates lane swimming, recreational swimming and lessons for intermediate to advanced swimmers.

The irregular-shaped leisure pool with spray features and water warmed to 90°F accommodates the needs of older adults, children and family recreational activity, therapeutic classes and lessons for children and infants.

The library is very open and airy with lots of glass to take advantage of natural light during the daylight hours.
