Linamar Giga Factory
Procon successfully completed the construction of Linamar’s groundbreaking Giga Facility. This 300,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing plant represents a major advancement in electric vehicle (EV) production across North America, integrating revolutionary gigacasting technology.
Electrical Scope of Work:
- High-Voltage Power Distribution: Upgraded incoming 27.6 KV redundant service feeds via 2x 5 MVA transformers
- Distribution of 5000A switchboard to multiple 2000A distribution boards. All to support three 6,100-ton high-pressure gigacasting machines—among the largest in the world.
- Lighting & Life Safety Systems: Installed energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the plant and implemented complete life safety systems, including emergency power, fire alarm, and egress lighting.
- Power Monitoring and Controls: Deployed advanced metering and building automation tie-ins to allow Linamar real-time monitoring of energy usage and system performance.
