Projects

McVean Sewage Pumping Station Expansion

This project was completed in two phases. First, the construction of a new sewage pumping station and second, the construction of a new in-ground bio-filter c/w chambers, steam generator, pumps and piping, including the decommissioning of the existing pumping station.

The construction of a new sewage pumping station included the supply and installation of (3) large dry pit submersible pumps c/w associated valves, sluice gates, weir gates and large diameter process piping. Also included were the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, emergency/standby generator fuel piping, drainage, potable water piping and electrical control system.

The existing septage receiving station was relocated to make the facility more easily accessible to the rural sewage haulers.

A new valve chamber was constructed and valves installed to divert the flows to the existing grid. During this phase of construction, bypass pumping and piping was required to accommodate the existing flows during the decommissioning of the existing pumping station.
